Bertan has developed an economical building block technique which provides flexible multi-output high voltage power supply capability. Based on standard low cost modules, an array consisting of a large quantity of independently programmable detector power supplies can be provided at a low cost per high voltage output.This technique also lends itself to interfacing with standard Bertan High Voltage instruments and modules covering a wide range of voltage and power. Custom units can be added to the system, initially or in the future, providing potentially limitless capability.
Programming can be accomplished via a wide range of digital interfacing, including standard PC digital output plug-ins. The overall cost of assembling an automated system, ideally suited for custom applications, is lower than provided by any other available approach.

The Bertan dual output tracking programmable high voltage power supply systems provide two high voltage outputs in response to a single front panel control setting or a single programming input. Models are available with tracking positive and negative output voltages from 0 to 1kV through 0 to 30kV at a maximum total output power of up to 60 watts.These systems consist of a single 19" wide, rack mount unit, 8 3/4" high and 20" deep (483 x 223 x 508mm). Two high voltage output connectors, digital programming connector, analog programming and monitor connector, and line input are located at the rear panel. Controls, indicator LEDs, and metering are located on the front panel. Input power required is 115 or 230 Vac.

Bertan isolated filament power supply modules are designed for electron beam, ion beam, X-ray source and RF power tube applications. These units are suitable for bench top or system operation.The power input, controls, programming inputs and monitoring outputs are referenced to ground. The 2 terminal filament output is completely isolated and can be directly connected to a dc high voltage. Custom units can be provided with a wide range of control and monitoring features.

Bertan capacitor charging high voltage power supplies are ideally suited to laser, flash lamp, x-ray, fusion research, impulse generator and many other pulsed applications. These power supplies employ switch-mode circuitry to achieve an efficiency of approximately 85% and provide inherent reliable operation. The constant current/constant voltage/ auto-crossover control circuitry provides constant current charging and excellent pulse-pulse repeatability. Charging current and voltage can be accurately controlled. A wide range of remote programming and system interface features can be provided.
