Output
Voltage and Current:
0 to ±30kV @ 0 to 400µAdc
Polarity:
User selectable via remote input logic signal compatible with TTL, open collector and relay logic. If polarity reversal is commanded during high voltage operation, the unit will automatically turn off, wait for discharge, reverse polarity and then resume high voltage operation at the new polarity, at the same output voltage magnitude. At 1000 megohm load the polarity reversing time duration will be less than 2 seconds, measured from the time of switching to 90% of final voltage. The time duration is reduced at higher loading (increased output current).
Input
Power:
+24Vdc (+5% / -2%) @ 2Adc maximum (1.5Adc typical).
Performance
Voltage Regulation:
±0.01% of maximum for -2% to +5% input line change.
±0.01% of maximum for 0 to maximum rated output current change.
Current Regulation:
±0.05% of maximum for -2% to +5% input line change.
±0.1% of maximum for 0 to maximum rated output current change.
Ripple:
0.05% peak-to-peak at maximum output.
Temperature Coefficient (0 to 50°C):
100ppm of maximum per °C.
Storage Temperature:
-40°C to +85°C
Stability (after 1/2 hr. warm-up):
0.01% per hour ; 0.02% per 8 hours.
Energy Storage:
Less than 0.35 Joule.
Discharge Time:
The power supply will discharge with a time constant of less than 450 milliseconds. (With 1000 megohm load, discharge to 10% of output in >1 second).
Features
Local Output Voltage and Current Controls:
Two independent multi-turn potentiometers for voltage and current control.
Remote Programming:
Two 0 to +10Vdc programming inputs can be used to independently control the output high voltage and current from 0 to their maximum ratings. Accuracy is ±(0.25% of setting + 0.25% of maximum). The programming input impedance is 10 megohm.
Voltage Monitor:
0 to ±10Vdc for 0 to ±30kV output. The monitor output impedance is 1 kilohms and the accuracy is ±(0.25% of reading +0.25% of maximum).
Current Monitor:
0 to +10Vdc for 0 to 400µA output. The monitor output impedance is 1 kilohms. The accuracy is ±(0.25% of reading +0.5% of maximum).
Interlock:
A remote safety ENABLE input is provided. The remote ENABLE must be connected to COMMON to turn on the high voltage output.
Protection:
Arc and short circuit protection, self-restoring.
Mechanical
Size:
5"W x 3.75"H x 9"L (127 x 95 x 229mm)
Weight:
7lbs (3.2kg)
Mounting:
8-32 blind insert, located at 4 places on the bottom of the unit (127mm x 229mm surface).
High Voltage Connector:
Alden 8101QFP. A mating high voltage connector assembled to three meters of high voltage cable, Bertan P/N B200J118, is provided with each unit.
Input and I/O Connector:
Standard 15 pin "D" type connector provides the functions as listed in the chart below. A mating connector is provided. Connector is located on the same side as the high voltage connector.
