50W High Voltage Module for X-Ray and E-Beam Applications
The Bertan Series 701 is a series of compact versatile high voltage modules that include a wide range of standard and optional features. These features include adaptable control circuitry, filament power supply, control grid power supply, safety circuits, and connector choices that make these units ideal for X-ray and other electron beam applications. The standard models are listed and described below.
The power supply high voltage and current outputs are adjustable by an internal multi-turn potentiometer or programmable by a 0 to +5V source for 0 to maximum voltage output.
Positive polarity units can be provided with an optional filament power supply. If used to power a filamentary controllable electron beam device, the filament power supply can act as a constant beam current controller. The required control circuitry is included in the optional filament power supply. (See

HV Output Connectors:
A cavity type, grounded shell, single pin connector is provided, located on the same end face as the low voltage I/O connectors. A shielded high voltage flying lead, 2.5 meters long, is included. Custom connector and/or cable assemblies can be provided.
Power Input Connector:
Two pin, screw terminal.
Filament, Control Grid & Safety Connector:
As required by options installed in unit.
Options
A Filament power supply, Grid power supply, and External Safety Circuit are available as options. These options are available individually or in combination, installed within the package dimensions described above.
Filament Power Supply:
The Filament power supply option includes selectable filament current regulation or filamentary constant beam current mode operation. The Filament supply is ground referenced and can therefore only be used to achieve filamentary beam current control with positive polarity units.
Grid Power Supply:
The optional Grid power supply is ground referenced. It can be used with grounded cathode, grided electron beam devices.
External Safety Circuit:
The external lamp and high voltage enable circuit option is compatible with standard X-ray system requirements.
