General
The Series 230 is a family of regulated, compact, precision high voltage power supplies. A wide range of models with high voltage output up to 30kV is available. The output polarity is reversible for all models. Operation is safe and convenient for bench top or system applications.
A single front panel precision dial sets the high voltage output. Automatic current limiting and arc protection assures reliable operation. Remote output voltage and current monitoring, remote output high voltage programming and a high voltage operation interlock are also included.

Polarity:
Polarity reversal is provided on all models. For 1kV through 5kV models,
polarity reversal is achieved by a switch accessible at the right side
of the unit. For 10kV through 30kV models, polarity reversal is achieved
by the reversal of an internal connector. The selected polarity is displayed
by a front panel LED indicator. |

115 Vac ±10% @ 0.5 Ampere, 50-60Hz.
230 Vac ±10% @ 0.25 Amperes, 50-60Hz.
A 115V/230V switch and 1.0 Ampere fuse are included.
Performance
Line Regulation:
±0.002% of maximum for +10% input line change.
Load Regulation:
0.005% of maximum for 0 to maximum rated output current change.
Temperature Coefficient (0 to 50°C):
100ppm of maximum per °C.
Storage Temperature:
-40°C to +85°C
Stability (after ½ hr warm-up):
0.01% per hour ; 0.02% per 8 hours.

Front Panel Controls:
Calibrated front panel 10-turn potentiometer. The resolution of the control is 0.2% of maximum. Accuracy is ±(0.2% of setting + 0.2% of maximum).
High Voltage Programming:
A 0 to +5 Volt programming input can be used to control the output high voltage from 0 to maximum. Accuracy is ±(0.1% of setting + 0.1% of maximum). A rear switch panel selects either front panel or remote control. The programming signal is applied at the rear panel remote I/O connector.
Voltage and Current Monitors:
Two outputs, 0 to +5 Volts proportional to 0 to maximum output voltage and current. Accuracy is ±(0.1% of reading +0.1% of maximum) for the output voltage monitor and is ±(2.0% of reading + 1.0% of maximum) for the output current. The monitor output impedance is 10 kilohms.
Interlock:
Remote interlock disables (low), enables (high) the high voltage output. Signal on interlock pin is normally high and supply will default to an "enabled" condition.
Current Limit:
All units provide short circuit current limiting to less than 120% of the maximum rated output current. A rear panel switch that can select a current limit of 25% of maximum rated output is also provided.
Protection:
Short circuit output current is limited. Arc protected and self-restoring.

Size:
7-5/8" W x 7½" D x 5-1/32" H (194 x 191 x 128mm).

High Voltage Connector:
Mating high voltage connectors are provided with each unit. For 10kV through 20kV models, a mating connector, assembled to 1.5 meters of high voltage cable, is provided. The Bertan part numbers for the HV output and appropriate mating connectors are as shown in the chart below. P/N PDB is equivalent to MHV type UG-932/U. The 30kV supply is provided with a three meter output cable w/connector attached.
Preassembled HV cable for units up to 5kV must be purchased separately.

Power Input Connector:
3-wire IEC line cord receptacle. Detachable line cord is included.
Low Voltage I/O Connector:
Standard 9 pin "D" type connector for access to remote voltage monitoring, remote current monitoring and remote turn ON/OFF functions. A mating connector is provided.
Custom Models
